Abstract

Barutçu mansionlocated in Kastamonu province, İsmailbeydistrict is one of theexamples of
civil architecture which considerably preserves its unique features within historical
environment, embodies authentic construction technique, original space
formationandarchitecturalelements of traditional Kastamonu houses. The mansion has entered
into a fast deterioration process as it is abandoned for a decade. Within the scope of this article,
the formation of the mansion, authentic architectural elements and construction system is
defined; the current situation is documented with the problems, dated, recommendationsgiven
in connectionwithinrestitutionandrestorationrecommendations have beenpresented in
bothgraphicandvectorialwiththeirstages.
